Silicon oxide chips could push limits of small .... This is The World I Worked for 20+ Years...Awesome!!!!

Scientists have created the first two-terminal memory chips that use only silicon, one of the most common substances on the planet, in a way that should be easily adaptable to nanoelectronic manufacturing techniques.

Engineers at Rice University sandwiched a layer of silicon oxide, an insulator, between semiconducting sheets of polycrystalline silicon that served as the top and bottom electrodes. Applying a charge to the electrodes created a conductive pathway by stripping oxygen atoms from the silicon oxide and forming a chain of nano-sized silicon crystals.

The nanocrystal wires are as small as 5 nanometers (billionths of a meter) wide, far smaller than circuitry in even the most advanced computers and electronic devices.

Don’t Hide It, Write It!

No this is not food or exercise; it's all about being truthful.

Give your feelings a voice by journaling.

The healing power of writing your truth.

YOU’VE PROBABLY HEARD
the saying, “the truth will set you free,” but did you ever wonder why?  Whenever life gets too tough, too threatening – when we experience an emotional or physical trauma of some kind – we may feel we “can’t handle the truth” and so we try to deny it. We send the truth – the facts about what is happening, as well as what we think and feel about it – underground, burying it deep inside us, where we think we don’t have to deal with it. Then we might distract ourselves with something less scary, or even overwrite the facts with lies that are easier to cope with.

This “out of sight, out of mind,” deny-and-dissociate strategy doesn’t work, at least not for long. That’s because the truth is a mighty force, a powerful energy that is and always will be. Like everything else in our universe, it exists in physical reality even if we can’t see it with our eyes. Therefore, it can’t just be wished away, any more than gravity can. Dealing with the truth in a healthy way requires processing it. The energy needs to be moved out of the body and released.

If this doesn’t happen – if the truth about what happened to us and what we think and feel about it is not acknowledged and spoken by the conscious mind – it will eventually pop back up, like a beach ball under water, grabbing our attention in some unpredictable ways. Emotional pain, abusive relationships, financial problems, accidents, health scares and conditions, stress symptoms of all kinds – under almost any disturbance is a truth waiting to be set free.

I discovered this reality when, at age 25, I wound up with cancer. I’d already had plenty of other warning signs and wake-up calls – drug and alcohol addictions, promiscuity, an eating disorder – but I didn’t pay heed. Cancer finally got my attention. When it did, I sincerely wanted to heal.

To my surprise, one of the simplest tools I found in my search for healing – writing in a personal journal – turned out to be one of the most powerful. Journal writing gave voice (expression and movement) to my truth of an extremely traumatic childhood wrought with sexual and emotional abuse. Journaling gave the benefit of processing out that old toxic energy that was stored inside me and had been wreaking such havoc on my life. Giving voice to it ultimately led me to becoming cancer free, addiction free, and to letting go of all the other lies I had been living.

We all have truths buried inside. Too often in childhood we are taught by our parents or society that feelings are bad and shouldn’t be felt, let alone expressed. Stuffing our emotions is the cultural norm. Yet in order to have a fulfilling life, complete with healthy relationships, we have to have our feelings. We have to experience them and then let them go. In essence, to be truly healthy and happy, we have to live in truth. Journal writing can help us do that.

There aren’t many rules to follow to gain the benefits of writing in a personal daily journal. Here are 7 guidelines for getting the most out of it:

  1. Do it daily. Like brushing your teeth, create a habit that helps to ensure good emotional hygiene.
  2. Use pencil and paper OR keyboard and computer. They are both equally effective. The desired stream of consciousness can come about merely by using your hands to communicate.
  3. Be honest. Practice rigorous honesty about your feelings, no matter how petty, jealous, hateful, or anything else they may sound. It’s time to honor your feelings and this is the place to do it. Don’t hold anything back.
  4. Don’t edit, spell-check, or judge your writing. That’s not the exercise here. This isn’t school and you’re not being graded. We’re doing something far more important for your well-being and that requires letting the thoughts and feelings flow – uninterrupted.
  5. Keep your journal safe. This means keeping it in a safe place where no one else will see it. To be uninhibited in your journal writing, you need to know that it won’t be subject to scrutiny by others.
  6. Share only if you want to. If there is a trusted loved one with whom you want to share your writing, by all means do it. Having another person hear your truth and then give you unconditional acceptance will further your processing the energy out.
  7. Be committed to the truth. Use your journal as a self-healing tool for your personal growth, self-improvement, emotional health, and physical well-being. Remember, the truth will set you free!

The Importance of Stomach Acid to Your Health

Stomach acid or hydrochloric acid (HCl), is a very powerful digestive agent, and much more important than you realize.

HCl's important functions include:

  • Breaking down proteins into the essential amino acids and nutrients your body needs in order to stay healthy.
  • Stimulating your pancreas and small intestines to produce the digestive enzymes and bile necessary to further breakdown the carbohydrates, proteins and fats you eat.
  • Preventing disease by killing pathogenic bacteria and yeast normally present in food.

As you age, your stomach acid tends to decrease anyway. Add a poor diet of processed foods and you may find that you have both digestive and immune problems.

Low Stomach Acid: A Vicious Cycle

There are two main consequences of low stomach acid:

  1. You become protein malnourished. When your stomach acid is low, you are not able to digest protein.
    • Improper digestion of protein creates toxins in your intestines that can set the stage for illness and disease.
    • Improper digestion of protein also creates acidic blood, since protein is by nature acidic.
  2. You become mineral deficient. As your blood becomes more acidic, it will look for minerals from anywhere in your body, in order to get your blood to its more ideal alkaline state. Acidic blood robs your body of minerals, even taking minerals from your bones (which is important to know if you want to prevent osteoporosis).

Low stomach acid eventually creates a vicious cycle: low stomach acid = low minerals = acidic blood. This cycle continues because acidic blood further creates low minerals and low stomach acid.

Once this vicious cycle has started, there is a cascade of consequences:

  • You could eat plenty of protein and still be protein malnourished. This raises cortisol levels (stress or death hormone), thereby raising your blood glucose (blood sugar levels). Elevated cortisol adversely affects your behavior and temperment.
  • Eventually, your adrenals become depleted (adrenal fatigue) and DHEA, the youth hormone, is suppressed, leading to premature aging.

Low DHEA and high cortisol affect your brain and behavior, but that's not all. The vicious cycle of low stomach acid affects your inner ecosystem too. Low stomach acid can lead to more bad guys (pathogenic bacteria, candida and viruses) than good guys (healthy microflora), thus lowering your immunity.

Symptoms of Low Stomach Acid

Here are some of the common symptoms and disorders caused by low stomach acid1,3:
  • Bloating, belching, and flatulence immediately after meals
  • Heartburn (often thought to be caused by too much stomach acid)
  • Indigestion, diarrhea, or constipation
  • Undigested food in stools
  • Acne
  • Rectal itching
  • Chronic candida
  • Hair loss in women
  • Multiple food allergies
  • Iron deficiency
  • Weak, peeling, or cracked fingernails
  • Chronic fatigue
  • Adrenal fatigue
  • Dry skin
  • Various autoimmune diseases

Increase Your Stomach Acid, Heal Your Digestion

Here are the 3 KEY ways to increase your stomach acid:
  1. Reduce or eliminate sugar. Replace mineral-depleting sugar and sweeteners with Stevia
  2. Add fermented foods and drinks to your diet. Fermented foods and drinks keep you looking and feeling healthy from the inside out. Some of our favorite fermented foods and drinks are:
    • Cultured vegetables - a delicious, vitamin, mineral and probiotic-rich, raw, fermented food.
    • Young Coconut Kefir - full of minerals and probiotics, this is a fermented drink you can easily make at home.
    • Liquid Spirulina- thought of as one of the "world's healthiest foods," spirulina is a perfect protein and an almost immediate energizer anyone suffering with adrenal fatigue.
  3. Eliminate processed foods. Follow the 7 healthy eating principles of the Body Ecology Program

As you eat a healthy Body Ecology diet, you will find your digestion improving. You may notice that you experience heartburn relief, less indigestion and improved energy. Or perhaps, if you have had long-standing digestive problems, your journey to health may take a bit longer. Be patient as you go step by step towards true health.

Whatever the reason for low stomach acid, we have another solution for you: Assist Dairy and Protein Digestive Enzymes.

There is no reason to suffer the vicious cycle of low stomach acid. So start by healing the root cause and watch your energy and vitality improve, naturally!Assist Dairy and Protein is a potent blend of digestive enzymes and HCl designed specifically to help you digest proteins from all animal and vegetable sources.

New Game: Spotting Democrats

---by Ann Coulter

In the greatest party-affiliation cover-up since the media tried to portray Gary Condit as a Republican, the media are refusing to mention the party affiliation of the thieving government officials in Bell, Calif.

There have been hundreds of news stories about Bell city officials' jaw-dropping salaries. In this poor city on the outskirts of Los Angeles, where the per capita annual income is $24,800 a year, the city manager, Robert Rizzo, had a salary of $787,637.

That's about twice what the president of the United States makes. (To be fair, Rizzo was doing a better job.)

Rizzo was the highest-paid government employee in the entire country, not counting Maxine Waters' husband -- pending further revelations. With benefits, his total annual compensation, according to the Los Angeles Times, came to $1.5 million a year.

Alerted to the Bell situation, the White House quickly added the Bell city manager to the list of jobs saved by its stimulus plan.

Not only that, but Rizzo was entitled to 28 weeks off a year for vacation and sick leave. To put that in perspective, that's almost as much vacation time as public school teachers get!

Reached in Spain, even Michelle Obama was outraged.

Rizzo responded to the anger over his preposterous salary by saying: "If that's a number people choke on, maybe I'm in the wrong business. I could go into private business and make that money."

(If he wants to grab one of those private-sector jobs that pays $1.5 million for 24 weeks of work, may I suggest the entertainment industry?)

Good luck to him. After leaving Bell, Rizzo will be lucky to land a job at Taco Bell. Before being anointed the King Tut of Bell, Rizzo was the city manager of Hesperia, Calif., where he was overpaid only to the tune of $78,000 a year.

The police chief, Randy Adams, was making $457,000 -- $770,046 including benefits. The assistant city manager, Angela Spaccia, had a $376,288 salary, with a total compensation package of $845,960. Being just an assistant city manager, Angela had to pay for her own yacht.

After the Los Angeles Times reported the stratospheric government salaries in little Bell, and the people of the town revolted, the millionaire government employees all resigned.

That'll show 'em! Oops, except upon their resignations, they qualified for lifetime pensions worth, by some estimates, more than $50 million.

These insane salary packages were granted by the mayor and four city council members -- who also set their own salaries. As a result, all but one was making $100,000 a year for these part-time jobs. After the council members' salaries came to light, the four looters cut their salaries by 90 percent.

According to Nexis, there have been more than 300 news stories reporting on the Bell scandal. Guess how many mentioned the party affiliation of the corrupt government bureaucrats?

One. Yes, just one. Now guess if the government officials were Democrats or Republicans? Yes, that is correct.

Congratulations -- you've qualified for our bonus round!

The one newspaper to cough up party affiliations, The Orange County Register, admitted that the corrupt officials were all Democrats only in response to reader complaints about the peculiar omission.

Lots of news stories on the scandal in Bell used the word "Democrat" or "Democratic." But that was only to say that the DEMOCRATIC attorney general of California, Jerry Brown, who is running on the DEMOCRATIC ticket for governor, is investigating the Bell officials' salaries.

So we know the media are aware of party affiliations. They just chose not to mention it when it would require them to identify shockingly corrupt government officials as Democrats.

Any day now, the media will start describing Maxine Waters as "the light-skinned congresswoman from California."

(But you might want to vote for that DEMOCRATIC attorney general who is apparently a great crusader against corruption ... despite his years of ignoring the public employee salary and pension looting that has driven the state into insolvency.)

Maybe Obama's Czar of City Managers' Salaries could investigate this.

Unlike political corruption involving sex or bribery, the outrage in Bell isn't a scandal that hits both parties from time to time -- it's how the Democrats govern.

Elected Democratic officials bestow ludicrous salaries and benefits packages on government employees, and, in return, public employee unions make sure the Democrats keep getting re-elected.

The scandal in Bell isn't a scandal at all for the Democrats. Au contraire! This is the governing strategy of the Democratic Party.

8 Questions That May Save Your Recording Session

By Teri Danz

If more artists had post mortems as to why a recording session tanked, they might discover the winds of defeat can sometimes be blowing before anyone even steps into the studio. Musical pre-production is often discussed as a necessity when making records, but it seems as if administrative and strategic plans are often given little consideration. Well, guess what? If you don’t address some of the “whys and hows” before you start tracking, the musical parts and production plans may be insignificant, because the project might die before it’s even born.

What Is the Goal?

This is an oft-forgotten, but very deadly question. Too many artists enter the studio without a clue as to why they are really there. Are you making a demo? If so, what is the demo for—managers, booking agents, label executives, or publishers? Are you making a master recording? If so, are you releasing the project on your own, having it distributed through a label, or handing the master to a bona fide record company? For example, C. Tricky Stewart defines his production role as “the liaison between a great song, the artist, and what the label needs.” You need to know where your project is meant to go.

Does Everyone Know His or Her Job?

Sometimes, democracies can be inefficient in the studio work. In order to maximize productivity—as well as to steer a project towards completion without spending funds indiscriminately—it helps to have a clearly defined chain of command. Be very clear about the roles of the producer, engineer, and various band members. Collaboration should still happen, of course, but it’s often best when all opinions and ideas are delivered in an arena of “managed collaboration.”

Are You Working with a Good Engineer?

You don’t have to be an accomplished engineer or producer to make a good record, but, if you’re not, then you need to work with one who can capture what you hear. This means that the engineer with the best hourly rate—or the one provided by the studio— may not be the best partner to realize your creative vision. Never be afraid to spend the time to get to know the person who will be twisting the knobs for you—and make sure that person understands what you are trying to do.

Are You Aware of What You’re Competing Against?

Learn what a “finished recording” sounds like for an acceptable demo, a rock record, a pop record, and so on. Compare your song to professional recordings and/or hits, and note all the differences.

Are You Building a Strong and Appropriate Foundation?

Depending on the genre, there are many ways to start a recording. In hip-hop and dance, the rhythm track rules. But for songwriters such as Jason Mraz and John Mayer, the recording may start from the foundation of a basic guitar and vocal track. Of course, songs can start all kinds of ways, but certain styles do tend to put more importance on one element or another, so make sure your work hits the style’s sweet spot.

Will You Allow for Spontaneity?

Let go of preconceived ideas and assumptions, and let pure creativity guide the process. You can always assess and edit the ideas later, but if you set rules at the beginning of the process, you may prevent something glorious from happening.

Do You Know When to Surrender?

“Learn when to let it go when it’s too hard to get,” suggests producer/songwriter Robert Ellis Orrall. For example, if a vocalist is trying over and over to get something you’d like to hear, but they can’t or won’t get it, then move on. Your choice is to have them practice the part and try again later, or just let it go. Sometimes, doing what is attainable is preferable to getting a less-than-great performance on a part you desire.

Will You Commit to Being a Solution—Not a Problem?

If something goes wrong in the studio—and it will— be professional. Things can sometimes get heated with the studio clock ticking and musicians or clients getting anxious. Keep your cool. If it’s your studio and you’re the producer, the solution will likely be your call, but calmly detail your plan for getting back on track. Don’t be too pushy or defensive or visibly confused or angry. If the person who should be in control seems out-of-control, then the whole session can spin into the aby

Do We Have to Wait for Jesus to Return Before We Enter Heaven?

Q: Do we go to heaven when we die, or do we have to wait until Jesus returns to enter heaven? My husband died a few months ago, and it would bring me great comfort to know he's with Jesus. But a friend of mine says she thinks this can't happen until Jesus returns. -- Mrs. P. McC.

A: I don't doubt your friend's sincerity, but my own study of the Bible has convinced me that when we die, we enter immediately into God's presence if we know Christ.

This certainly seemed to be the Apostle Paul's conviction. On one occasion, he was in jail awaiting trial for his faith, and he knew that his life might soon come to an end. But he didn't face this possibility with fear. In fact, he welcomed it, because he was convinced that at death he would go immediately to be with the Lord. He wrote, "I desire to depart and be with Christ, which is better by far" (Philippians 1:23).

It's true that at the end of this present age our souls and our bodies will be reunited, and we will be given new bodies -- bodies like that of Christ after His resurrection which will never age or perish. The Bible says, "The body that is sown (in the grave) is perishable, it is raised imperishable.... a spiritual body" (1 Corinthians 15:42,44).

Thank God for the hope we have of heaven -- a hope that is secure because of what Jesus Christ did for us. Thank Him, too, that your husband is now safely in His presence forever, and that some day you will see him again. Until that day, make it your goal to live for Christ and point others to the hope we have of heaven because of Him.

ORANGE-GLAZED GRILLED FISH FILLETS

RECIPE

Serves 4

4 firm fish fillets, each about 1 inch thick and weighing about 6 ounces

I suggest:

fillets of halibut, grouper, yellowfin tuna, salmon

6 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil, plus extra for grilling

Freshly ground black pepper

1/4 cup fresh orange juice

1/4 cup fresh lemon juice

1/4 cup white wine vinegar

2 tablespoons orange or tangerine marmalade

1 teaspoon minced fresh ginger

1 teaspoon minced garlic

1/2 teaspoon fresh ground white pepper

Salt

Put the fish fillets in a dish large enough to hold them side by side. Brush them all over with 2 tablespoons of the olive oil. Grind a little black pepper over both sides of the fillets. Cover the dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate until ready to cook.

In a nonreactive saucepan, stir together the orange juice, lemon juice, vinegar, marmalade, ginger, garlic, and white pepper. Over medium-high heat, bring the mixture to a boil; lower the heat slightly and continue boiling until the mixture reduces to about 1/2 cup, 5 to 7 minutes. Remove the pan from the heat and let the mixture cool. Whisk in the remaining 4 tablespoons of olive oil. Transfer this glaze to a nonreactive bowl, cover with plastic wrap, and refrigerate until ready to use.

Preheat a grill or broiler.

Return the glaze to a small saucepan and, over low heat, warm it up.

Brush the fish fillets all over with the all of the glaze and season them lightly with salt. Carefully brush the grill's cooking surface with some olive oil to prevent sticking. Grill the fish fillets until they are nicely browned and feel springy to the touch, 4 to 5 minutes per side. Serve immediately.
