The Save Our Sovereignty petition we told you about last week is off to a great start. There are thousands of Americans like you out there; those who support exploring the energy resources here at home, while creating thousands of jobs and reducing dependence on foreign oil.

We are trying to get as many signatures as possible before politicians from around the world meet next month at the United Nations Climate Change Conference in Copenhagen, Denmark.

This conference is being held to discuss ways to regulate and tax our most effective and inexpensive sources of energy, under the guise of stopping global warming. Agreeing to the suffocating regulations proposed at the conference is contradictory to the American Dream and is akin to unilateral economic disarmament.

China and India, the world’s fastest-growing economies with a combined population of 2.5 billion people, will be the biggest beneficiaries if the United States commits itself to these regulations. That is why both countries, along with more than 150 other nations, have made it clear that they have no intention of placing those restrictions on their own sources of carbon emissions.
