Weather Lore Calendar

Though we have a scientific for forecasting weather, we also keep a close eye on nature. Here are a few signs of a “wintry” winter:

 Chipmunks are abundant.
• Geese fly south at a high altitude.
• Lakes and rivers freeze later than usual.
• Thicker-than-normal onion skins and corn husks are observed.
• Woodpeckers appear early.
• Berries and acorns are plentiful.

Please add to this if you have something different.
