DATA SHOWS ALL RECORDED MUSIC in a TAILSPIN

Music-industry 
 Chart adjusted for inflation.... Conclusions are:

  • The music industry is down 64% from its peak ...(and) Conclusions 45% from where it was in 1973.
  • 10 years ago the average American spent almost 3 times as much on recorded music products as (he does) today.
    (The average person buys) just over 1 album per person per year now, and only 0.25 downloaded albums per year. 
  • Mobile, which includes “Master Ringtunes, Ringbacks, Music Videos, Full Length Downloads, and Other Mobile”, hit its peak in 2007 and has actually been in decline the past 2 years.  Looks like the death of the ringtone ...
