Important Slow Money Effort to Preserve Farmland
The 145 acres of historic farmland adjacent to Johnson’s Backyard Garden’s Cedar Creek location at 3608 River Road is currently available for purchase. This property was once a dairy farm, and its proximity to Austin makes it a prime target for development. JBG wants to ensure that it remains farmland as this land’s soil is classified by the National Resources Conservation Service as some of the best farmland near Austin. Land like this with proximity to Austin is quickly disappearing. Purchasing this acreage alone is beyond JBG’s reach financially; therefore, we have drafted a proposal for a group purchase of the land via formation of a limited liability company. We are seeking expression of interest by potential qualified investors in Texas who share our goal of preserving this farmland and growing organic produce availability for Austin.

We are not making any offering and are not accepting or asking for any money, investments or commitments at this time. Instead, we are asking our friends like you let us know if you would be interested in a private offering to invest in such a company. By providing us this information, you are making no legal commitment, and you are incurring no legal obligations. You are simply providing us with enough information to determine whether or not there is sufficient interest for us to incur the legal expenses associated with this endeavor. If we receive a sufficient response, as a next step we will send you additional information, with no obligation. If you have any questions or alternative suggestions, please let us know. If there is enough interest, we will schedule a meeting in early March to discuss the proposal in greater detail. Please let us know of your interest by emailing us at farm@jbgorganic.com.
Thank you for taking the time to review our proposal.
Sincerely, The Johnson Family and JBG Staff
