The country twanging just never ends at the annual Texas Steel Guitar Jamboree in Irving, Texas. This year's fest takes place March 10-13 at the Sheraton Grand DFW Airport Hotel. Backed by the Texas Steel Guitar Association's house band , the world's best pedal steel players are spotlighted daily; other room feature lap steel masters, seminars, and merchandise displays. Saturday night ends with a set by veteran honky-tonk singer Johnny Bush, followed by a Western Swing dance featuring Nashville steel whiz Paul Franklin, bassist Curtis Potter (who led Hank Thompson's Brazos Valley Boys through their glory years), and Buck Owens' vocal protege, Tony Booth.
