The House and Purge of Conservative Members in Committees

This was my comment, today, in an article on Red State:

What surprises me is that people are surprised by this. This is the way both the House and Senate have operated for many decades.

THE ONLY WAY YOU HAVE CONTROL IN EITHER, IS TO CONTROL THE POWER ..... SIMPLY ELECTING A FEW DIE HARD PLEDGE SIGNING CONSERVATIVES DOES NOTHING TO CHANGE POWER.

But regardless of whose in power, does anything really ever changed in DC? The debt has increased under all leadership in Congress and WH dating all the way back to Eisenhower. Yes, even under Clinton and Newt, the debt increased. Much of what they accomplished was done using excess Social Security funds which makes what they did nothing but 'smoke and mirrors'. But the debt did increase under their leadership.

Lastly, DC will never change, I don't care who is elected or who is in charge. The only difference in any of the leaderships is the amount of spending, but, rest assured, the DEBT has never NOT increased under any of those in DC. Plus, spending is how many continually get re-elected term after term.

THE ONLY THING THAT MIGHT CHANGE THE WAY DC OPERATES IS TO INSIST ON TERM LIMITS. HOW ABOUT HAVING ALL NEW ELECTED SIGN A 'TERM LIMITS' PLEDGE INSTEAD OF PLEDGES THAT WON'T SEE THE LIGHT OF DAY???

(Note: I have not even gotten into what the lobbyist do and how powerful they are in DC; maybe even more powerful than voters)
