Every minute, 4.05 Americans with quality health insurance die. This startling fact highlights the urgency of the healthcontrol debate in Washington. A government takeover of healthcare could drive this number as high as 5 per minute.
Meanwhile, researchers at Harvard report that the uninsured are actually much safer than the insured. One person without insurance dies every 12 minutes, a rate significantly below the insured rate of 4.05 every 60 seconds.
This fact should end any discussion of universal coverage.
(Note: Yes, I understand the absurdity of my analysis. Do you understand the absurdity of Harvards? The frequency of deaths expressed in minutes is meaningless and has no bearing whether the government has any business or role in any person’s healthcare decisions. Further, the statistics Harvard released are meaningless absent adjacent and related statistics, such as the death rates for the insured. Harvard is either being deceitful or ignorant. I won’t insult their intelligence by pretending that they actually believe what they said.)
