Commitment

Commitment – it’s a big word full of big promises for those who take it seriously. It’s just a quality, something you can’t see or feel. But it’s a fact of life: All goals, dreams, ideas and hopes in this world fade away without this vital ingredient. Look at any story of success and accomplishment, and commitment is one element turning up again and again. There are many roads to success and happiness, but none will get you there if you don’t take commitment along as your walking stick.

Many people today are not willing to make a total commitment to anyone/anything. It’s not because they’re irresponsible; rather, they’ve been hurt, disappointed, or discouraged by the sometimes painful, frustrating experiences they’ve encountered in life. Some have failed in business or in their personal lives and chosen to take the safe route so they won’t get hurt again. I’ve observed in my working life that a sure step on the road to failure – often the fatal step – is loss of ability to make a commitment.

In present-day society, it seems that people desire a relationship without committed effort on their part.

In the music business, there is a saying: ALL ROADS LEAD TO THE STAGE. When the spotlights comes on, the bands start to play, to have an entertaining show, an artist has to make connections through their music while creating special moments for each person in the audience.

To have a successful relationship, we must connect & create special moments each day to keep the fires burning. Fueling the 'love' fire each day fills the body with fuel needed to continue solidifying a successful, loving, and happy relationship. Lack of fueled in relationship/marriages would be like the sitting sun that turns our world/life into darkness with a never rising sun. If we can't look into the eyes of our special person and show a smile, that sparkles, then the fire surely needs more fuel.

At the end of our life's mortal journey on earth...what will have mattered the most? I suggest here that "real" committed love, day to day happiness, and devotion consistently given without expectations will always be the lasting thoughts as the sunshine of our lives turn into darkness for the 'long' sleep that is destiny to all that have lived.
