KEY factors when trying to determine if you have a counterfeit Money

All US Federal Reserve Notes must have:

Ø

Small red and blue fibers embedded in the paper (randomly placed in the note) / no light source needed to see them

Ø       Watermark (image of the person embedded into the paper) must match the portrait on the center of the note / right side of note / light source needed to see it

Ø       Security thread (image embedded into the paper) must match the denomination of the note / left side of the note / light source needed to see it

** Raised ink on the collar of the person indicated on the note – feels like small fish scales **

** Notes that are “bleached” or “washed” will still be alerted as genuine when using a counterfeit pen (the pen only checks the paper) / look for the security features noted above
