America, The Republic, Saturated by New Laws .... That Have NO Positive Impact!!!

 

NO law can prevent someone from committing a crime ...... let me repeat that: NO LAW CAN PREVENT SOMEONE FROM COMMITTING A CRIME ..... all laws allow us to do is convict people and put them in prison at a cost of about ~$40K / year.  Plus, many of these cons, when released from prison, want nothing more than to release their anger on the same society that put them there.  Which begs for a real answer to the question ..... where is the 'reform'?  

Remember the quote: "An idle mind is the devil's workshop"?  So we put people in prison for 'X' number of years; we put people in an environment that creates, in some, a devil's workshop.   No, I am not saying people shouldn't go to prison.  What I am saying is, surely we can find better ways to help these folks for ~40K/Yr., especially the non-violent ones. 

Yes, some folks need to be in prison and some folks need to be executed, but we don't need more and more laws that allow us to lock people  up just for the 'hell' of it, especially when most of these laws have NO positive impact on society nor do they make society safer. 

Today, through NEW laws, and the politics from these new laws, we have a nation of people about evenly divided that dislike/hate each other with a passion I have never seen in my lifetime. The more people dislike/hate each, the more some will 'break' and commit crimes, they otherwise would not think about committing. Everyone has a 'breaking point' ..... Everyone has either a 'short', 'medium', or 'long' fuse. Of course, as I always write: I am sure there are a few exceptions.  Mixed in some illegal/legal drugs/alcohol and some of these 'fuses' may become shorter and burn faster.  

I don't know of anyone, besides God that can accurately ascertain what passes through people's minds and hearts from time to time ...... especially when their emotions run unchecked for whatever reason(s).

Isn't is time Americans get back to using some good ole common sense, other than allowing TV FOLKS, politicians, etc. to show up, calling for a new law to stop this or that???????????  

If laws prevented crimes none of us would have to lock our cars, or homes, or be worried about our children being safe at school. (And, no I am not saying we don't need laws ..... I am just pointing out, most likely we have no need for more than about 10, as in the Ten Commandments)

Just as guns don't commit crimes, new laws, don't prevent them, either!!
