RAW POWER

Central Market's cooking school won't be doing much cooking on Thursday, July 30. Actually, the lesson focuses on a new trend in healthy eating: raw food. Gather up all your foodie friends and learn to prepare zucchini hummus, garden scrabble (are Qs and Zs still worth 10 points?), Greek salad, cherry malt and mango cobbler. There are still 18 seats available for the $45 course and class starts at 6:30 p.m. at Central Market's Coit Road location. Most evening classes offer wine and beer samples paired specially for the menu, but no worries if you're not quite 21 yet, participants only need to be 18-years-old to attend the class. Upcoming classes include modern clambake for $65, parent/children desserts for $60, international cooking focusing on Spain for $45 and seafood 101 for $55. For more information and registration, call 469-241-8389 or visit centralmarket.com.
